About Me

Mira Cummins, LICSW, PMH-C is a master's level Clinical Social Worker, with over 15 years experience in the field. Mira is passionate about serving the unique needs of individuals during life's biggest transitions, whether that is launching into adulthood, navigating parenthood, or working through grief after a loss.

Mira has extensive training in treating perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and is certified as a Perinatal Mental Health Specialist (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International. Cummins Counseling LLC specializes in supporting individuals struggling with the transition to parent hood, a perinatal mood or anxiety disorder, infertility, infant or pregnancy loss, traumatic birth, those with hospitalized or medically complex children, and high-risk pregnancies.

As a social worker, Mira will meet you exactly where you are to begin. Utilizing a variety of treatment modalities, therapy will focus on helping to reduce symptoms, increase skills, build internal strengths, and reduce the impact past trauma has on your current functioning. Mira's treatment is trauma aware and focused. Mira is trained and certified by EMDRIA to use Eye Movement and Desensitization Therapy (EMDR). She also is trained in and utilizes the Anchored Relational Model and Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT) models along with EMDR to treat complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD) and complex dissasociation. Building on those three modalities, she also heavily integrates attachment theory, developmental repair, mindfulness, strengths based, and cognitive behavioral models.

Mira is a proud active member and serves as the current Board Treasurer for Pregnancy and Postpartum Support Minnesota.
